‘I Thought It Was Very Weird and Telling About His Character’: Woman Catches Date in Bizarre Lie, Calls Him Out but Can’t Decide if It’s Cute or Manipulative

A woman recently took to her social media to share a story about a guy she used to date. The story was about how the guy accidentally ended up confessing to her that he lied and manipulated her on their first date. He was telling her about how one time he went above and beyond for a first date and played out this whole elaborate plan to make this girl think that he is rich and special. He was telling her this story because he thought it was silly and cute. However, she instantly saw a red flag. 

She asked her follows what they think about it? Is it cute what he did to get this girl to like him on this first date? Or was it slimy and manipulative? Starting a relationship off with a lie is never a good sign. But then again, he did it because he really wanted to impress someone. She feels torn, though she confesses that she is siding with it being a huge red flag, but even then, she still asks what everybody else thinks. Was this like a cute rom-com meet cute? Or was this the set up to some drama from a manipulative man who is way too comfortable lying?
